Halfhearted attempt
While it is nice to see another company put out a Mac app, it’s clear that this company simply did not care that much. The only interface into the app is a menubar icon that displays what looks like a ruddy webpage, and a preference pane that for some reason does not bring up the app’s menu bar. In fact, there seems to be no circumstance under which the app will enter the foreground, which is seriously odd. By far the biggest flaw is that the app does not show syncing progress, so I have no idea how long it will take. Should I leave my computer on overnight? I have no idea. Syncing also seems to bee very slow, with my computer saying the total data sent per second while the app is running— including all other apps on my system— is ~200 bytes per second. I have a 75mbps internet connection, but I don’t have two weeks to wait for it to upload my 35 GB iPhoto library. Also, for some reason, they don’t even bother to authenticate Facebook through the OS. Even if you are logged into Facebook on your Mac, it will still pop up a web dialog for you to enter your username and password. This is a real pain if you have enabled two-factor authentication, and really shows that the developer did not even care to leverage this simple feature to make signing up a smoother process.
